President Donald Trump and President Xi Jinping along with US and Chinese officials met this morning on the sidelines of the G20 summit in Japan.

The meeting between the US and Chinese delegations ended earlier than originally scheduled.

The two US and Chinese leaders were seen shaking hands and smiling happily before starting the meeting.

President Trump did not mention the results of the meeting with President Xi Jinping this morning, but he said the details would be announced by both sides.

The US-China trade war has `cast a shadow` on the agenda of this year’s G20 summit.

Last month, trade negotiations between the US and China did not achieve the expected results after Washington accused Beijing of withdrawing commitments in an earlier draft agreement.
